In the leadup to making “Final Destination 3,” there were early talks about making the movie a full 3D experience but those plans were eventually abandoned.
But never leave a bad idea behind because when plans started coming together for the fourth installment in the horror franchise, 3D was once again introduced and with an impressive script from writer Eric Bress, the green light was given to move ahead with the latest sequel.
James Wong — the director behind “Final Destination” and “Final Destination 3” — was supposed to return but a scheduling conflict prevented him coming back so instead David R. Ellis took on the job after he successfully helmed “Final Destination 2.”
Unlike the previous films, Ellis convinced the studio to shoot in New Orleans instead of Vancouver and the production was off and running. This time, a group of friends attended an auto race but one of them has a premonition that a terrible crash would result in a chain reaction that would lead to dozens of deaths including their own.
After he wakes up and saves himself, his friends and several bystanders when the deadly crash actually occurs, he soon realizes that this horrific accident is far from over when the survivors start dying off one by one….
